Welcome to BottleCrate — here’s a little about why we came to be.

The truth: Somewhere along the way, wine lost its magic. Supermarket shelves filled with bulk brands and faceless labels, and the soul of wine — the craft, the growers, the stories — quietly disappeared.

BottleCrate is my way of bringing it back.

Before starting BottleCrate, I spent over a decade in the wine world — as a Senior Buyer at Oddbins, tasting thousands of bottles each year, and as a Senior Judge and former Young Wine Writer of the Year with the International Wine Challenge. I’m also a Master of Wine candidate, which means I’ve dedicated my career to understanding the craft, the growers, and the soul behind every glass.

But I’ve always believed wine isn’t just about what’s in the bottle — it’s about the moments we make around it. The scent of a freshly lit candle, good music, the laughter that lingers over the table. BottleCrate blends that spirit of hosting with craftsmanship: candles poured by hand, dried flowers arranged with heart, and crates packed the way I’d make them for a friend — thoughtful, surprising, and made for sharing.

Each crate is a little story — of great wine, of real people, and of the simple joy of sharing something made with care.
