Description
Le Sughere di Frassinello 2020 — Maremma
Nickname: The Tuscan Silhouette
Enjoy it when:
When dinner has ambition — rich meats, crackling ovens, and a bottle that looks as good as it tastes.
Bottle Tale:
On Tuscany’s wild Maremma coast, the sun hits hard, the sea breeze cuts clean, and Bordeaux grapes thrive alongside native Sangiovese. Le Sughere di Frassinello brings all three together — Cabernet Sauvignon for drive, Merlot for silk and Sangiovese for Italian heart — in a style that’s glossy yet grounded in place.
The project is guided by Rocca di Frassinello, a collaboration between the icons of Chianti and the minds behind Château Lafite’s stable. Modern winemaking meets centuries of Tuscan instinct: ripe black cherry, polished tannins, a little balsamic lift and just enough savoury spice to keep it unmistakably Italian. Bold, but beautifully composed.
Let it linger:
A short decant and a wide glass go a long way. Pour it with steak, porchetta, tomato-rich pastas, roasted mushrooms or a cheese board with some swagger. The kind of red that makes any table feel special — even on a random Tuesday.
