The Story
Coterie is the personal project of winemaker Thomas Webb, who works with carefully selected vineyards across South Africa’s Western Cape. Inspired by the classic white blends of Bordeaux, he brings together Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc to balance texture with
freshness. The grapes are picked early to preserve natural acidity, then fermented with gentle handling. A portion of the wine sees time in older oak barrels, adding subtle
texture and complexity rather than overt oak flavour — very much in the Bordeaux tradition.
In the glass: grapefruit, lime and white peach with a hint of herbs. The palate is fresh yet rounded, with a soft texture from the Sémillon and a bright, citrus lift from the Sauvignon Blanc wrapped in a hint of toasty oak.
