Description
Alambrado “Alma Negra” Red Blend 2019 (Catena)
Nickname: The Velvet Mask
Enjoy it when:
For rich dishes, soft lighting and moods that lean a little mysterious.
Bottle Tale:
Some wines love to tell you exactly what they are.
This one… doesn’t.
Alma Negra — “Black Soul” — is a Catena family project that champions Argentina’s darker, more seductive side. It’s a secretive blend (Malbec and Bonarda usually lead the charge), aged to a velvet sheen: ripe black plum, cocoa, violets and a hint of warm spice. Plush fruit meets polished structure — luxurious without ever feeling heavy.
Crafted by Ernesto Catena, the estate’s more artistic soul, Alma Negra has become one of Argentina’s cult favourites — a wine that prefers a whisper to a shout, letting texture and intrigue do the talking.
Let it linger:
A quick decant helps reveal its silkier depths. Pour with steak, grilled mushrooms, truffle-topped pasta or even just a very good movie and a very cosy sofa. This is a red that elevates the atmosphere, no extra effort required.
